Naci\u00f3 en Barcelona en 1922, sus padres eran mexicanos. Se doctor\u00f3 en Filosof\u00eda en la UNAM y comenz\u00f3 a trabajar como docente en esa instituci\u00f3n en el a\u00f1o 1948 y desde 1971 form\u00f3 parte del Instituto de Investigaciones Filos\u00f3ficas. Muchos libros y textos suyos son y seguir\u00e1n siendo fundamentales para entender las cosas m\u00e1s importantes: \u201cCreer, saber, conocer\u201d, \u201cP\u00e1ginas filos\u00f3ficas\u201d, \u201cLos grandes momentos del indigenismo en M\u00e9xico\u201d, \u201cEl proceso ideol\u00f3gico de la Revoluci\u00f3n de Independencia\u201d\u2026 Fue un hombre que nos ense\u00f1\u00f3 a pensar, que le sonri\u00f3 a la vida y acept\u00f3 sus retos.
